Heungbu and the Magic Gourd In a small village, Heungbu lived with his brother Nolbu. They had little food to eat. One day, while out, Heungbu picked a gourd from a tree. As they returned home, Nolbu cut open the gourd with his knife, revealing its golden interior. But instead of sharing it with Heungbu, he ate it all alone. 'You'll have nothing to eat,' Nolbu laughed. The next day, the brothers went out again. This time, Heungbu found a magic gourd. When opened, it could refill itself instantly! Overjoyed, Heungbu shared the gourd with his brother, who was initially hesitant but soon enjoyed its endless supply. However, as Nolbu continued to eat more and more from the gourd, he grew fatter while Heungbu remained thin. One day, a wise old man came to visit them. 'Nolbu, why do you take all for yourself?' he asked. Heungbu's kindness had been tested by his brother's greed. In the end, Nolbu's selfishness was rewarded with nothing but an empty stomach. Meanwhile, Heungbu received the magic gourd as a gift from the wise old man for being kind and sharing. The village elder praised Heungbu's generosity, saying 'True kindness brings joy.' Heungbu smiled, knowing he'd done what was right.
